Nov 26. - It's over. 2004 ends on a sour note as Bill Callhan joins the worst coaches of the 40s and 50s at the University of Nebraska, ending the season with a losing record for the first time since 1961. SINCE BEFORE I WAS BORN. NU's loss to Colorado at 26-20 put NU at five wins and six losses on the season. I guess it's time to give Thanks.
Thanks Bill. What evil have we unleashed, allowing Bill C to bring his terrible offensive scheme from the Oakland Raiders and desecrating a once-proud Nebraska program. He claimed, "it's the offense I know, so we're going to run it." How pompous to think that the 100 or so players know ANOTHER offense, and impose HIS way. This was no transition season, this was a debacle. I relaize he is the Head Coach, and it's his program to run, but these are collge kids, not overpaid professionals.
Thanks Steve Pederson, ensuring that Bo Pelini would leave and allowing Callahan to bring his college buddy to run the defense. Thanks, Kevin Cosgrove, for wrecking the Blackshirts, and having good defensive players turn soft and confused. Where is the pride?
In Lincoln, life ends as we know it. Yes, it's that bad.
The next game will be in fall of 2005. See you then. Look for NU to add Houston to the scedule.
Bill, prove me wrong, please...
